Mountain Creek SHS is one of twelve AFLQ endorsed Schools of Excellence. MCSHS competes in the Premiership division of the School of Excellence Competition which feeds into the State wide AFLQ Schools Cup.
Students at MCSHS can study AFL as a subject in Years 9 and 10 through units align with ACARA standards and also includes a unit in the school Gym and an umpiring unit.
Students will be engaged in a number of experiences from Years 7 to 12 that will help develop the student around our core aims of the program. The possible experiences and opportunities that the students will have to participate in are:
- AFLQ Schools Cup
- AFLQ School of Excellence competition
- Coaching from Brisbane Lions Academy coaches and players
- Sunshine Coast AFL Lightning Premiership
- Interschool Sport AFL
- Enrichment AFL training
- Umpiring school AFL games
- Strength and conditioning
Mountain Creek SHS has a group of key staff members with AFL coaching accreditations supporting the program with experiences coaching, playing and umpiring at state and national level.
