Computers and Technology

Mountain Creek State High School offers all students the access to technology for the purpose of learning in class.

In 2018 it is now mandatory that all year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students have access to a device through one of the options available to them. It is not mandatory for years 7 and 8 students however strongly recommended that they consider how they will be able to make this occur in the coming future.

All students will be able to bring their privately owned devices to school and securely connect to our school network. This will give students access to the internet as well as resources and printing.

In 2018 students in years 10, 11 and 12 can have the option to participate in the Stay at School program or the Take Home Program. This program provides students with a school purchased device, but asks for a small fee for the use of the device. This is maintained and insured by the school. It has school owned software and the students enter into an agreement to be a part of that program. Students in these year levels can alternatively choose to participate in our BYOx program. The BYOx Program is offered to all year levels in 2018 and will be the only available program in 2019 and beyond.

Mountain Creek State High School is asking that parents lend their support to this very valuable and innovative program. Strong support from parents is paramount to the program's success.

A successful Computer and Technology Program at Mountain Creek State High School is dependent on:

  •  A strongly supported culture and vision across the whole school community
  •  Development of student centred learning methods
  •  Ongoing professional development for staff
