The University of the Sunshine Coast Headstart program provides opportunities for senior secondary students to fast track university entrance. Headstart is a transition program for Year 11 and 12 students to study USC courses while still completing high school. Headstart gives secondary students a taste of university life and prepares them for future study while working towards a USC degree, expanding knowledge, and interacting with university staff and students.
When enrolled in Headstart, you become a university student. You will find new and exciting opportunities.
You can expect to:
meet and study alongside other USC undergraduate students
be independent and responsible for your own attendance and assessment
attend lectures and tutorials on campus
have full use of the university’s facilities and support services
complete assessment tasks which may include written assignments, oral presentations, group projects or exams.
Congratulations to Year 12 students Francesca, Sarah and Dylan for recently successfully completing the USC Headstart program. These students have secured themselves a tertiary entrance rank and can now start planning their university course preferences and making applications.
