Volleyball is one of the specialist program sports at Mountain Creek High. This sport is open to both boys and girls with highly qualified and experienced coaches actively involved in the program at both teaching and coaching levels.

The Year 8 and 9’s participate in the regular Central District Sport in Winter Season with 2013 seeing the Creekers return with 5 of the district premierships! An outstanding performance.

Participation in the Sunshine Coast, Trish Buckley Cup competition sees both the seniors (in Term 1) and the juniors (Term 2) working hard to win matches against the other Sunshine Coast region school teams.

In Term 3 Volleyball Queensland hosts the Senior Schools Cup in Toowoomba and the Creekers send up to 5 or 6 teams to compete in the Queensland wide championship. Success in 2013 saw the Open Girls Div 1 and Senior Boys Div 1 teams come home with Gold medals around their necks!

Term 4 has the Junior Schools Cup at venues around Brisbane and again the Creekers participate across both genders and various divisions. These students thoroughly enjoyed their participation in the competition and showed excellent development and improvement across the tournament.

Being one of the specialist programs, volleyball is offered as a Physical Education subject to the Year 9 and Year 10 classes where students work on developing advanced volleyball skills and techniques while also studying sport specific biomechanics, nutrition, exercise science and volleyball rules and etiquette.
