Dance Company

In the area of Dance, we offer students with a passion or skill for dance, extra opportunities in this dynamic field. Our Dance Company covers dance in the styles of jazz, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical, and meet weekly in the Mountain Creek State High School Dance studios.

Members learn team skills and work with each other to create and perform dances of a very high standard. Students also have the opportunity to work with local guest artists when developing new works.

Dance Company performs at numerous competitions throughout the year, including the Sunshine Coast Dance Eisteddfod, Get The Beat Dance Competition and the Australian Pinnacle Dance Challenge. Students also have the opportunity to perform at special events as invited, and they regularly perform at various school events such as our prestigious Awards Night and other special school ceremonies.

Students have the opportunity to purchase a Dance Company t-shirt and there may also be some user pays costs related to competition fees. Entry into Dance Company is via nomination and audition to Head of Department, Creative Industries - 07 5457 8337.
