Quality • Opportunity • Excellence
For more than three decades, Mountain Creek State High School has built a reputation for Quality, Opportunity, and Excellence - values that remain at the heart of everything we do. These three words shape our expectations, our relationships, and the legacy our students carry into the world.
A School Where Opportunity Is Created - Not Waited For
At The Creek, opportunity is more than a concept, it is something we actively create. Our curriculum is meaningful, future-focused and designed to challenge students to think deeply, act with purpose, and pursue their individual goals with courage and curiosity.
Our innovative timetable structure provides improved wellbeing for students and staff, greater engagement in learning, and more time for students to balance study with part-time work, sport, and personal interests. For staff, dedicated Collaborative Curriculum Time each week ensures high-quality planning and consistent, evidence-based teaching.
A Commitment to Quality in All We Do
Quality is reflected not only in our strong academic outcomes, but in the way our school community works together. In 2025, both Year 7 and Year 9 performed above state and regional averages across all NAPLAN areas. Sixty-six percent of our students achieved an A or B, and an outstanding 93 percent achieved an A, B or C. Our Year 12 cohort achieved a 100 percent QCE or equivalent attainment rate - a testament to the perseverance of our students and the expert support of their teachers.
Our Head of Year and sub-school structure ensures every student is known, supported, and monitored - academically, socially, and behaviourally - within a safe, caring and well-organised environment. Strong partnerships between students, staff, and parents remain foundational to our success.
Excellence as a Daily Practice
Excellence at Mountain Creek is not about perfection - it is about progress, pride, and striving to be better today than yesterday. Our students excel across the arts, sport, leadership, community service and cultural pursuits. Highlights include an exceptional school musical involving more than 80 students, and outstanding achievements in sport at regional, state, national, and even international levels.
These accomplishments are supported by a dedicated team of teachers and coaches who go above and beyond - coaching, mentoring and guiding students to reach their full potential.
A Community That Shapes Futures
Our partnerships with local businesses and community organisations across the Sunshine Coast bring learning to life. These partnerships create pathways for work experience, enhanced study options, volunteering, leadership, and further education. They strengthen our students' connection to their community and expand the opportunities available beyond the school gate.
Our Vision
We are committed to developing lifelong learners who:
- think critically and creatively
- are self-directed and resilient
- contribute meaningfully to their community
- collaborate effectively with others
- and use technology with skill and purpose.
Enrolling at Mountain Creek State High School means joining a community that believes in high standards, strong relationships, and the power of opportunity. Your child will be challenged, supported, and inspired to pursue excellence in all its forms.
