Basketball Program Overview
Mountain Creek State High School's Basketball Excellence Program is dedicated to providing every student with the opportunity to grow and develop themselves through the game of basketball.
The goal is simple: help every student reach their full potential both on and off the court.
We believe in giving students the highest quality education and experience in the game of basketball, no matter their skill level. We focus on developing the fundamentals, a strong fitness base and a high basketball IQ. Every lesson/training session aims to push student's skill levels and game understanding higher through quality coaching and learning experiences that engages and challenges every athlete.
Our program aims to incorporate basketball directly into a student's weekly timetable with before school sessions for juniors, after school sessions for seniors, and basketball class for year 9 and 10, allowing students to focus both on their academic success and their basketball potential.
Our students have access to:
- Indoor training facilities, including commercial gym access
- Pride performance partnership – access to shooting machines
- Sun Coast Clippers partnership – access to court space
- Year 7-9 skill development program (outside school hours)
Competitions:
- Sunshine Coast School Basketball competition
- Champion Basketball School of Queensland competition (CBSQ)
- Australian School's Championship (ASC)
