​​​At Mountain Creek State High School we offer a wide variety of sporting opportunities that can be accessed by all students. We have a strong and proud sporting history with many outstanding team and individual performances over many years.

Our focus sports are:

  • B​oys and girls AFL – all year levels

  • Boys and girls rugby league – all year levels

  • Boys and girls volleyball – all year levels

  • Boys and girls basketball – all year levels

  • Girls netball - all year levels

​Our students compete in a variety of competitions ranging from local, Sunshine Coast schools Championships through to Australian Championship competitions.

Within the school’s HPE curriculum classes are offered at both junior secondary and senior secondary in Sport Specialisation. These include netball, volleyball, basketball, AFL and rugby league. These classes are very popular and students participate to a very high level in their chosen sports in these classes. Students have the opportunity to progress from sports specialisation classes to participate in co-curricular sporting teams and competitions including Struddy's and National Schoolboys Rugby League competition, AFLQ Schools of Excellence, Volleyball Schools Cup and CBSQ basketball.​

All our coaches are qualified with representative experience and put in tremendous time and effort to ensure the success of the sporting programs at our school.

The Year 7,8 and 9 students participate in weekly winter and summer inter-school sport in our local Central District Schools competition where Mountain Creek has been the champion school for all competitions for the past 18 years – an outstanding performance!

For representative sport our students access through to Sunshine Coast Regional Schools teams in many different sports and age groups to compete at the Queensland Championships.

We also offer strong swimming, cross country and track & field athletics competitions where we have been in the top two or three schools on the Sunshine Coast for the past 15 years.
